Shattered

Shattered by Eric Walters is an absolutely amazing book. It’s told by Ian, a teenage boy who has to work at a soup kitchen for community service hours. He meets a homeless man who everyone calls Sarge and is deeply affected by the stories that he is told. Because Sarge was in the army, he has many historical stories. I think that this is what makes this book stand out so much to me. You get to learn a lot about history and geography subconsciously. I have read this book numerous times and each time tells a new story. I would recommend this book to anyone and it would defiantly be on my ‘top ten’ list.
