The end of the world as we know it by Lesley Choyce was an okay book. It puts you in the mind of Carson, a 16 year old boy at "Flunk out Academy". This school is a last resort for kids who has been kicked out of all other schools. Carson has a "hate everything" attitude, and is not happy about being stuck at the school. One day he wanders off and meets Christine, a girl living by herself and struggling with life. Her and Carson become good friends and when troubles start at the academy they go on an adventure together.
I thought this book was okay. I found it odd that their big adventure together didn't happen until there was only 50 pages left in the book. I think the book may have been better if Choyce spent more time talking about it, rather than spending the majority of the book leading up to it. The characters were written about well, and in a way that you become to have sympathy, happiness and hate for the characters. I would recommend this book, but I don't think it would be as enjoyable the second time through.
